Eleven Things That Are Killer About Fall

1. The smell of fireplaces in the air
2. Colder weather
3. It’s soup-making season
4. Leaves changing color, to the color of my hair

5. Octoberfest
6. Hot beverages
7. Rain
8. Three words: Sweaters and boots
9. Cozying up on the couch or in bed under 7 blankets and reading
10. Thanksgiving, and then the day after: holiday lights
11. The smell of fireplaces in the air

And mulled wine! Can't be grouped just under warm beverages. Hurray fall is finally, finally here. Although I did enjoy my boogie-boarding experience in September - love California for the impossibly late summer. But bring on leaves, fireplaces, boots, sweaters, all of the above! (See you tomorrow night - though I am seriously cramming that book...)

Inuit--thanks! Looking forward to reading more of your poems.

Libby--Ah, I was thinking mulled wine, but then I thought that was mostly a winter/Christmas ritual! Glad you were able to stretch the summer out a few more weeks!

Last night I had to break out The Magic Blanket and put it on the bed--The Magic Blanket being the acrylic blanket that magically prevents all coldness from touching your body while you're under it. Next fall ritual: breaking out the space heater!

I just finished the book a few minutes ago; LOVED it!!! Can't wait to discuss with you all!
